Anyone Can Write
The word "amateur" is often used to mean unprofessional or unskilled, but it's actually originally derived from the Latin word "amator" meaning "lover", from the root word "amare" which means "to love". So an amateur is just someone that does something simply because for the love of it.
Most of the books that people read are published by huge publishers and written by famous bestselling authors. But creative writing doesn't have to be just huge bestsellers and timeless classics.
Writing is actually one of the most accessible mediums of art ever. Anyone who can read fiction already has everything they need to also write it, because humans are hardwired for storytelling.
All you need is a text editor with autosave and the first little tickle of an idea. Everything else can be practiced and learned.
You don't need to be the best writer in the world.
It's enough just to be the best writer where you are.
